Luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent is broadening its highly acclaimed villa rental portfolio with a collection of ski chalets in the European resorts of Courchevel, Meribel, Val d’Isere in France and Verbier in Switzerland.

In keeping with A&K Villas’ philosophy of providing the very best local support, each of the ski chalets comes with a team of staff including a Host, professional Chef, private Chauffeur and a Housekeeper. Fine dining is high on the experience list and all ski chalet rentals include a welcome champagne reception, daily breakfast and dinner six evenings of the week, as well as afternoon tea and open bar.

A&K has picked resorts that define European skiing at its best: Courchevel 1850, Verbier, Meribel and Val D’Isere are a heady mix of incredible skiing and glamorous après-ski in stunning Alpine settings. Verbier boasts some of the best off-piste skiing in the world, Val d’Isere a mix of challenging off-piste and easier runs, whilst Meribel, the prettiest of all ski villages, and Courchevel offer a wonderful diversity of runs from sublime blues to more challenging blacks.

The ski chalets in France and Switzerland complement A&K Villas’ collection of luxury villas in Italy, France, Greece, Spain and Portugal. “Extending our portfolio of vacation property rentals to winter chalets was a natural next step for us”, said Managing Director, Charles Stephenson. “Many of our clients take a winter ski break in addition to a summer villa holiday and we’re delighted we can now provide rental properties for the winter season as well as the summer, with the standard of accommodation and service that people expect from Abercrombie & Kent”.

A selection of the ski chalets includes:

Luxury Ski Chalets in France

Chalet Montana – Val d’Isere | Bedrooms: 6 | Sleeps: 15
Chalet Montana occupies arguably the best spot in Les Carats, the most exclusive enclave in Val d’Isére at the heart of Espace Killy. Fabulous for experienced ski enthusiasts, Chalet Montana faces the black ‘Face de Bellevarde’ ski run, scene of the men’s downhill in the Winter Olympics of 1992. The chalet offers the opportunity to ski-in and ski-out. If skiing is not enough exercise, guests can wind down in the private swimming pool, taking in the views of the snow-capped peaks.

Chalet Himalaya – Val d’Isere | Bedrooms: 4 | Sleeps: 12
Cool and slightly crazy, Chalet Himalaya is located on the piste in the hameau of La Daille in Val d’Isere. A former 17th century monastery, Chalet Himalaya is full of quirky features and facilities, such as the ancient stone window seats and the part-indoor, part-outdoor swimming pool which has an adjustable depth. Each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom with vast bath which doubles as a steam room. Guests are catered for by a Mosimann’s chef.

Shemshak Lodge – Courchevel 1850 | Bedrooms: 5 | Sleeps: 12
Shemshak Lodge is brand new for the 2010/2011 season. The lodge occupies a truly magnificent position on the piste within walking distance of Courchevel 1850 in the Trois Vallees. With interiors by Todhunter Earle, a whole floor dedicated to wellbeing, panoramic views and direct access onto the piste, Shemshak Lodge is set to become one of the most talked about ski lodges this season.

Luxury Ski Chalets in Switzerland

Chalet Bella Coola – Verbier| Bedrooms: 5 | Sleeps: 11
Traditional Swiss with a quirky twist of Rajasthan. This spectacular ski chalet in Verbier combines a beautiful wood exterior with ultra-modern kitchen and bathrooms and bedrooms with a decidedly Indian feel, with colourful fabrics and four poster beds.
