Mary MacKillop Canonisation Tickets – All Systems Go!
Following an exceptional flood of enquiries for the tickets to the Canonisation of Mary MacKillop from Australia and overseas, Catholic travel specialist Harvest Pilgrimages has been appointed the official co-ordinator of all entry tickets to the event to be held in St Peter’s Squar
e, Rome on Sunday 17th October 2010.
Speaking on behalf of the Sisters of St Joseph who are overseeing the occasion with the Archdiocese of Sydney and the Australian Bishops Conference, Sister Sheila McCreanor, Secretary General of the Congregational Leadership Team, has urged all intending pilgrims to get organised and begin finalising their travel and entry ticket requirements through Harvest’s dedicated online facility.
“We anticipate a great pilgrim procession to Rome this October in honour of Blessed Mary, our first saint. While entry tickets are free, we are encouraging all groups and individuals to get moving and contact Harvest, the event’s Official Tour Operator, who are managing both the travel packages and ticket registration to the canonisation and associated ceremonies, ” says Sister Sheila.
It is necessary to ensure the most professional and co-ordinated approach possible and Harvest is well versed in large Catholic international events including the last four World Youth Days as Official Tour Operator.
Harvest’s role will include ticket–only requests for those making their own way to Rome or who may be residing in Italy or further abroad.
More than 150 Sisters of St Joseph have already booked their pilgrimage travel with Harvest to assure their place at this momentous occasion.
“We are also hearing that many travellers are re-routing requests for those making their own organised itineraries just to be in Rome to be part of the celebrations,” says Sister Sheila.
In launching the one-stop travel booking system for Rome bound pilgrims, Harvest Managing Director Philip Ryall encouraged all Australians to get online and browse the travel options. “This really will be remembered by those who attend as one of life’s great moments. It is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the celebrations that will become a certain milestone in our history,” says Mr Ryall.
While ticket request are now open through dedicated website www.canonisationtravel.com pilgrims booked on the official travel packages through Harvest will have these tickets automatically included without the need for a separate registration procedure.
