Harvest Pilgrimages, official tour operator to the Mary MacKillop Canonisation celebrations has released the 15 days Scottish Heartland tour. Participants will follow in Mary’s footsteps in Scotland visiting places such as Oban, Fort William, Fort Augustus, Isle of Iona, Loch Ness, Stirling Castle and Edinburgh.

Starting in Glasgow, the pilgrimage will head north to Loch Lomond, Arrochar and Inveray where it will join Mary MacKillop’s actual itinerary at Lockgilphead where in November 1873 she arrived by steamer across Loch Fyne. From there the tour will follow Mary’s route, travelling on to Oban and Fort William (the Birthplace of her mother Flora MacDonald).

A particular highlight will be a meeting with her closest and oldest living relative Ronnie Campbell at Roy Bridge and a special Mass in the local St Margaret’s Church given by another relative Bishop Joseph Toal.

This exclusive programme has been prepared by the Scottish Josephite Nuns. It departs on October 6 for Glasgow and culminates with a full five night Rome Canonisation programme including tickets to all the special ceremonies. Full Air and Land package is priced at $5990 per person fully inclusive.

A stand-alone brochure detailing all the packages and prices are available – 10 per cent commissionable on the land only prices to agents.
