Celebrating 40 years with 40 days of Savings
To celebrate the Indian Pacific’s 40th Anniversary, Great Southern Rail have announced 40 days of savings on selected holiday packages showcasing the best of the Indian Pacific’s journey. With savings of up to $400*, there is no better time to travel on the Indian Pacific.
The Indian Pacific is one of Australia’s Great Train Journeys, travelling 4,352 km between Sydney and Perth. From the Blue Mountains to the Nullarbor Desert, guests experience some of Australia’s most breathtaking scenery while travelling in comfort and style.
For a limited time only, Great Southern Rail have introduced savings on six holiday packages combining accommodation, touring and the journey of a lifetime on board the mighty Indian Pacific.
With a choice of experiencing the glamour and buzz of a ‘Sydney Escape’, the famous wineries of SA with a ‘Taste of South Australia’, or a visit to Western Australia’s northern icon’s in the ‘Perth, Shark Bay and Monkey Mia’ experience, (and more) there is a holiday to suit everybody.

This year is the Indian Pacific’s ‘ruby anniversary’ and Great Southern Rail are encouraging couples also celebrating their ruby wedding anniversaries in 2010 to mark the occasion with a trip on the Indian Pacific.
“We are presenting a special commemorative ruby pendant gift to couples who travel with us during their 40th wedding anniversary year, booking one of our 40 day sale packages,” said Tony.
The Indian Pacific departs from both Sydney and Perth twice a week during the high season. The journey is available on one return service each week during the off-peak period.
