Travelscene American Express consultants have opened their hearts – and their wallets – to raise an additional $2000 for Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea at the National Consultants Conference (NCC) held 7 & 8 August in Cairns.

The NCC “I heart Travel” merchandise which included t-shirts, baggage tags, mouse pads, caps, water bottles and mugs proved a hit with delegates, as did the fact that all proceeds were going to a great cause.

The extra funds take the contribution from Travelscene American Express Members and agencies to an impressive $22,340.

“The tremendous level of support from NCC delegates shows how strongly the “I heart Travel” theme resonated on top of the already strong commitment from the Travelscene American Express community for our partnership with Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea,” Travelscene American Express General Manager Jacqui Timmins said.

Close to 300 delegates and more than 90 suppliers attended the Inaugural NCC in Cairns and, while the breadth of expertise of attending consultants’ ranged from 3 weeks to 43 years, more than half of those attending had 20-plus years’ experience in travel.

Ms Timmins said the extensive experience of NCC delegates had helped drive an informative weekend for all attendees.

“The knowledge, experience and expertise in the room, and the willingness to share, made for a very powerful exchange of information for delegates and suppliers and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”
