Hawaii Five-0 Goes on the Air with Hawaiian Airlines
Starting today, customers aboard Hawaiian Airlines’ transpacific flights will be the first to see the opening episode of the new Hawaii Five-0 TV series.
Through an exclusive marketing agreement with the producers of Hawaii Five-0, customers flying on Hawaiian during the next three weeks will enjoy a sneak preview of the thrilling modern-day remake of the classic Honolulu crime drama series, before its nationally televised debut on CBS on September 20.
“We’re excited about this partnership and how it gives our customers even more value with their inflight entertainment by letting them be the first to see the premier episode of the new Hawaii Five-0,”
said Blaine Miyasato, Hawaiian’s vice president of product development. “This show will be a beautiful visual showcase for what makes the Hawaiian Islands such an enticing place to see and visit.”
Hawaii Five-0’s debut episode is being featured in Hawaiian’s award-winning Hawaiian Skies inflight video program, which highlights the culture, people, and natural beauty of Hawaii.
As part of the marketing agreement, a Hawaiian Airlines aircraft is seen in the opening credits of every episode. Hawaiian’s nearly 4,000 employees are also among the first to receive a new Hawaii Five-0 ring tone to download on their cell phone.
Travelers will see the Hawaii Five-0 sneak preview on Hawaiian’s transpacific flights between Hawaii and 10 gateway cities in the Western U.S. – Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix and Las Vegas – as well as four international
destinations, Manila, Sydney, American Samoa, and Tahiti.
Hawaiian operates its transpacific flights using a fleet of 18 wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300ER aircraft seating up to 264 passengers, and two new Airbus A330-200 aircraft seating 294 passengers that are currently dedicated to the Los Angeles-Honolulu route. Hawaiian will be adding up to 25 more A330s and A350s to its fleet in the coming decade.
